Since there are no signs in the sky, a pilot must know where his airplane is using other methods. In this part of the Private Pilot License (PPL) course, the student pilot learns how to navigate in Visual Flight Rules (VFR), using a watch and a map. It is the first time to depart our home airport Herzliya Airport area and to land in a different airport like Haifa Airport or Rosh Pina Airport. After preparing an appropriate map, which takes into account the flying ground speed, the student pilot uses his watch and the map to compare the expected location with what he sees. This enables him to reach from one airport to a different one easily and safely.
